The Leaf of the Olive Tree
The leaf of the olive tree (Olea europaea) was first used medicinally in Ancient Egypt.
Benefits
The olive leaf is gaining recognition as a powerful defender against sickness and numerous scientific studies have been conducted to investigate the extracts beneficial properties. How to Prepare
- Pick fresh olive leaves, if you dont have a tree you can also use dry ones
- Chop the leaves finely and put them into a canning jar. DO NOT USE PLASTIC!
- Next, pour some Vodka over the leaves, completely covering them. Be sure they are completely covered (Roughly 1 part leaves to 3 parts alcohol)
- Now cover and shake well and place in a dry place, the leaves will sock for 4-6 weeks, shake every other day and ensure that the leaves are completely covered. During this time the alcohol will siphon and extract the active consituents from the leaves
- After 4-6 weeks use a cheesecloth to strain your extract into another glass container making sure to every last drop by wrining the cloth.
